Reusable Containers, Glass Recycling, and Hazardous Waste, Oh My!

Sustainable Business Spotlight
Introducing Pantry Collective, a new opportunity to reduce our plastic waste in the valley! They are a meet-up and delivery refillery where you refill your existing containers with kitchen, laundry and bathroom products instead of buying a new container each time. You’ll pay by the ounce for what you purchase, and all products are thoughtfully sourced for a low-waste, good for the planet lifestyle. Currently serving Columbia Falls and Whitefish areas.
Reach out to inquire and to find their offerings at pantrycollectivenw.com. Or, follow along @pantrycollectivenw.
3rd Street Market and Mountain Valley Food also refill soaps and shower gels.

Successful Glass Recycling Event
On Saturday, October 9th, we partnered with Dave Fischlowitz, and his company Flathead Recon, to host a glass recycling event. Thanks to all of the thoughtful community members who participated, we successfully diverted 4,500 lbs of material from the landfill. The glass will now be repurposed locally as landscaping material.
If you missed this event, hold onto your glass! We intend to host another recycling event in the spring.
For more for more information regarding the work that Flathead Recon does, check out their website at flatheadrecon.com.

Done with Home Improvement Projects for the Year? As you put power tools and lawnmowers away for the winter, you can drop off old gas, oil and propane tanks directly at the landfill anytime. You can drop off hazardous material on the third Saturday of every month.
