The 2021 session of the MT legislature presented unique challenges to smart land use planning policy in Montana. Citizens for a Better Flathead partnered with the Montana Smart Growth coalition to advocate for policies that enhance opportunities for public participation in land use policy, protect the autonomy of local governments and agencies to make community-specific planning decisions, and fight for cleaner water and soils.
