The WasteNot Project

The WasteNot Project is a consumer education program that seeks to heighten awareness about solid waste issues while promoting ways to reduce the volume and toxicity of our waste stream. The WasteNot Project was founded in 1995 and is a collaborative effort between Citizens for a Better Flathead, the Flathead County Solid Waste District, and the Flathead Valley Community College Service Learning Program. Check out some of our programs and activities below:

Publish and distribute Flathead-county specific waste education brochures: 

Classroom Presentations:

  • Promote recycling and waste reduction principles through public education and events
  • Offer recycling and composting classroom presentations and field trips for local schools
    • Since 2006, we have delivered thousands of presentations and field trips to over 29,000 Flathead Valley students.
