A Trail Runs Through ItWhitefish-Volunteer Orientation Meetings. It's time to get our hands
dirty! In order to get several miles of trail open this fall, we need
volunteers to help us finish trail construction in a few areas around
Skyles Lake. We have scheduled two meetings to meet volunteers, take
care of paperwork, and plan trail work parties. We have planned two
identical meetings so that folks can choose which best fits in with
personal schedules. Meeting #1: September 29, 6-7pm, Whitefish City Hall; Meeting #2: September 30, 12-1pm, Whitefish Library Conference Room Please feel free to call Greg at 406-261-8407 if you have any questions about the project. |

October 21, 2009: Flathead County is proposing a new zoning district classification, named
Large-Tract-Rural (L-T-R). It would be incorporated into the zoning
regulations as Section 3.44. The new use district is intended to protect
continued traditional natural resource based uses in rural locations,
maintain public access for outdoor recreational uses while providing
development flexibility for landowners in remote rural areas. This
proposal is very new and is raising significant questions for us about its
potential impact in rural areas. Watch this site for additional
comments from CBF on this proposal soon. An open house/ Q&A on this new
zone is scheduled for Monday, October 19th, at 6:30pm at the county
planning office in the Earl Bennett Bldg. A hearing on this zone is
scheduled for Wed. October 21st at the Earl Bennett Bldg, 2nd floor
conference room.
